JENNIFER MDIBA
EMPUCUKWENI, BA GENERAL, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently in my 3rd year of study at UP, studying BA general. Ligbron eLearning helped me improve my maths marks, and all I needed was a level 5 to apply for anything and I got just that, and because of that I got accepted into all the universities I applied to. Having the opportunity helped me to balance studying in between all my subjects, and it made studying easier. If it wasn't for Ligbron e-Learning, I am not sure if I'd have been able to reach my desired mark, and I wouldn't have caught the eye of universities, and for that, I am forever thankful. I am planning to study for a Master’s degree and eventually get qualified as a clinical psychologist

TLANGELANI CHAWANE
PATRIOT HIGH SCHOOL, BSC MEDICAL SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO
I matriculated in 2019, and I am currently a 3rd year student at the University of Limpopo studying BSc in medical science. e-Learning helped me understand some topics that I struggled with. After each class, I would have been able to answer some of my homework because I attended. They also played a huge role in me getting good marks so that I could study at the university, which I am currently studying
:Tlangelani’s challenges and overall second-year experience
It’s been hard adjusting from lecture hall to online learning. We couldn’t consult lecturers about topics because sometimes networks would be a problem. Paying attention in class is very hard for me to catch up and understand my work thoroughly. Our tests become way too difficult to answer because they think all students are copying from Google while we are writing. Although the questions are hard, it gives me the motivation to push and study harder. Overall, I am enjoying my course, especially Introduction to Anatomy and Introduction to Biochemistry

NHLANHLA CHAMBANE
BONGINSIMBI, ACCOUNTING SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
Matriculated in 2017 and am currently studying Accounting Sciences and am in my 1st year, I changed courses this year. I have been doing Chemical Engineering for the past 2 years. The e-Learning classes were beneficial to me as they helped me with my Maths & Science. Before it all started, I did poorly in Science. I remember at one point when I was doing Grade 11, I got a level 3 in Science and my Maths marks would change as I was never consistent. I would get a distinction in Maths, and sometimes my marks would drop. The topics touched on in the e-Learning classes were so relevant, they helped me thoroughly prepare for my final matric and that helped me in my early years at university because I continued with Maths and Science and my foundation was concrete, all thanks to my former teachers, including our virtual teachers from Ligbron. The system is effective as we would ask questions and get answers, especially because we would communicate with each other schools and their study methods were different which helped us a lot because there were many ways to tackle a problem we came across. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ligbron e-Learning

HLENGIWE SGUDLA
EMPUCUKWENI, GEOLOGY, WITS UNIVERSITY
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently in my 2nd year at Wits University, I am studying Geology. I passed all the courses last year, and I am part of the Golden Key International Community thanks to God. I benefited a lot from e Learning, the learning materials that were given to us as learners were indeed, helpful. We as learners could practice and help one another with the previous Maths and Science questions, also asking our teachers where we do not understand. It was so helpful a lot because this made me realize that Maths & Science needs the practice to understand it, this made me write trial and final exams without a doubt because we did lots and lots of practicing and question papers. Also, the teachers from e-Learning taught us how to answer MCQ's in Science. I benefitted a lot, and I wrote the exams well during that year
:Hlengiwe’s third-year overall experience and challenges (2021)
The challenges I had during this year of study were mostly trying to understand the concepts and some practical work we had to do. The work overload in a short time was stressing me out a lot. I felt like I was not doing enough to get through the work pressure. By God’s grace, I came through it successfully

NONTOKOZO MPILA
DM MOTSOASELE, BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (SENIOR FET PHASE-MAJOR: MATHS AND SCIENCE) UNISA
Matriculated in 2016 and am currently a 4th year student studying for BEd (Senior and FET, major in Maths & Science). I got 6 distinctions. Ligbron exposed me to the developed technology of smart boards and online learning also to experience new ways of teaching. Inspired me to discover new ways of teaching Maths & Science effectively. It made me understand Maths and Science better than the traditional ways of teaching and made me interested in participating in class. Ligbron e-Learning made a difference in achieving my goals
Nontokozo’s overall fourth-year experience and challenges:
Studying during this pandemic was very challenging with all the lockdown, as I could not access some learning resources. Thankfully, I adapted to the changes, therefore I did my work and study

HENDRICK, T.P SILILO
COMPUTER SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently studying Computer Science at UJ and am in my 2nd year. e-Learning was a great experience, and it helped me a lot by giving me extra lessons. It helped me to improve my marks, and I got access to university, which was such a great experience
:Hendrick’s overall experience and challenges
Using the online learning system was challenging at first as I was not used to it. But, as time went on it became much simpler as I was adjusting to the system, and I am proud to say I got the hang of things, eventually

NELLY MDAKA
MPHANAMA, BACHELOR OF COMMERCE, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
Passed matric in 2019. Is currently a 1st year student studying BCom at UJ. I got position 2 at my school with 2 distinctions in Accounting and Business Studies. As a student that wanted to pursue a career in Accounting, I had to have mathematics for me to qualify for the degree that I am currently enrolled in. Honestly, it was difficult for me in Grade 12 because I was having tough problems in Mathematics. I would pass all of my subjects exceptionally, but fail maths. The beginning of e-Learning was very challenging for me, as I had little understanding and background of the subject. But through the worksheets and lessons that we attended, I managed to at least pass during the 1st term until the very end of my Matric. I am impressed with the progress. I can say that with my dedication, my teacher's tireless effort, and also Ligbron e-Learning, I passed the subject. I am grateful that I had such a program because had I not attended we would have been saying otherwise. I hope other students realize the importance of this program and will also be willing to learn from it and execute what they have learned during their exams
Nelly’s overall experience and challenges during her second year of study:
Studying in the Covid-19 pandemic has been quite hectic, especially with time management. Because I was so scared of contracting the Corona Virus, I went back home to study there. So juggling home chores and school work has been a challenge. Another thing that was a struggle for me was not having my emails replied to as quickly as I would have liked them to be. I believe my marks dropped because I couldn’t get the help that I needed on time

LESEGO GULE
TSHWENYANE, APPRENTICESHIP IN TRADE TOOL JIG AND DIE MAKER
In 2017, I matriculated at Ligbron and received 75% for Maths and 83% for Science. Ligbron e-Learning made things easier for our Maths and Science teachers in such a way that the time they spent writing notes on the board by hand for us was dedicated to explaining and going into more detail about the chapter we were currently busy with. The interactions we had with other teachers and students made it easier for us to comprehend and understand the subject at large, the examples that they presented us with during the lesson were exceptional
I am currently busy with my apprenticeship in the trade Tool Jig and Die Maker. I got my apprenticeship through Denel Aeronautics and am currently busy doing my practicals at a company named F. Machele Engineering. I have 5 months left to complete my training. I will complete my apprenticeship at the end of 2021
SIMPHIWE MALINGA
SUIKERLAND, BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY, UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU-NATAL
I am currently studying MBChB - Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and I am in my fourth year of study at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. I completed matric in 2018 and I was No 2 in the District Top 10 Awards for 2018. I was the Golden Key Holder for the top 15 Top Achievers, Deans Commendation, and Merit Awards. e-Learning helped me to see the visuals of what I was taught and that of which I only learned in textbooks. I could observe experiments for physical science and practical questions for maths, which made my learning quite interesting and leveled my eagerness to learn more
Simphiwe’s overall experiences and challenges:
School has always been challenging, especially with Covid-19’s new regulations and protocols which all Universities must adhere to. That has resulted in online platforms being used to carry through our lessons. I have adjusted to online learning, although I have not done so fully, but I am getting there. I am also glad that my marks haven’t dropped as I am still standing at a pass rate of 85%. I have unfortunately lost out on some practical work that would have helped me gain the essential skills of a future doctor because of Covid-19, but I hope I will pick up over the holidays at my hometown’s local clinic to shadow the nurses and the doctors there

THABANG SHABANGU
ZINIKELENI, GENERAL SCIENCE (PHYSICS MAJOR), WITS UNIVERSITY
I matriculated in 2019 and am currently a 1st year student at Wits University studying Physics Major. One of my achievements this year was that I was one of the best students. I got 8 distinctions and I am doing 10 courses. Ligbron e-learning has helped me a lot this year as there was more online learning than physical lessons. I learned how to take notes and how to address questions formally and straight toward the point. e-Learning helped me a lot and I am grateful for all the work that you do
:Thabang’s overall experience
This year has been amazing. Online learning was really easy to adapt to because I was used to learning remotely. I believe that e-Learning prepared me well in advance with the online live transmissions as our school is currently using the same teaching platform. I am currently using the Funda group bursary
:Result of my second year
First semester results – Mathematics - 89%; Introduction into Materials Science & Engineering - 91%; Computing skills and software - 85%
