JENNIFER MDIBA
EMPUCUKWENI, BA GENERAL, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently in my 3rd year of study at UP, studying BA general. Ligbron e-Learning helped me improve my maths marks, and all I needed was a level 5 to apply for anything and I got just that, and because of that I got accepted into all the universities I applied to. Having the opportunity helped me to balance studying in between all my subjects, and it made studying easier. If it wasn't for Ligbron e-Learning, I am not sure if I'd have been able to reach my desired mark, and I wouldn't have caught the eye of universities, and for that, I am forever thankful. I am planning to study for a Master’s degree and eventually get qualified as a clinical psychologist

TLANGELANI CHAWANE
PATRIOT HIGH SCHOOL, BSC MEDICAL SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO
I matriculated in 2019, and I am currently a 3rd year student at the University of Limpopo studying BSc in medical science. e-Learning helped me understand some topics that I struggled with. After each class, I would have been able to answer some of my homework because I attended. They also played a huge role in me getting good marks so that I could study at the university, which I am currently studying
:Tlangelani’s challenges and overall second-year experience
It’s been hard adjusting from lecture hall to online learning. We couldn’t consult lecturers about topics because sometimes networks would be a problem. Paying attention in class is very hard for me to catch up and understand my work thoroughly. Our tests become way too difficult to answer because they think all students are copying from Google while we are writing. Although the questions are hard, it gives me the motivation to push and study harder. Overall, I am enjoying my course, especially Introduction to Anatomy and Introduction to Biochemistry

NHLANHLA CHAMBANE
BONGINSIMBI, ACCOUNTING SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
Matriculated in 2017 and am currently studying Accounting Sciences and am in my 1st year, I changed courses this year. I have been doing Chemical Engineering for the past 2 years. The e-Learning classes were beneficial to me as they helped me with my Maths & Science. Before it all started, I did poorly in Science. I remember at one point when I was doing Grade 11, I got a level 3 in Science and my Maths marks would change as I was never consistent. I would get a distinction in Maths, and sometimes my marks would drop. The topics touched on in the e-Learning classes were so relevant, they helped me thoroughly prepare for my final matric and that helped me in my early years at university because I continued with Maths and Science and my foundation was concrete, all thanks to my former teachers, including our virtual teachers from Ligbron. The system is effective as we would ask questions and get answers, especially because we would communicate with each other schools and their study methods were different which helped us a lot because there were many ways to tackle a problem we came across. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ligbron e-Learning

HLENGIWE SGUDLA
EMPUCUKWENI, GEOLOGY, WITS UNIVERSITY
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently in my 2nd year at Wits University, I am studying Geology. I passed all the courses last year, and I am part of the Golden Key International Community thanks to God. I benefited a lot from e Learning, the learning materials that were given to us as learners were indeed, helpful. We as learners could practice and help one another with the previous Maths and Science questions, also asking our teachers where we do not understand. It was so helpful a lot because this made me realize that Maths & Science needs the practice to understand it, this made me write trial and final exams without a doubt because we did lots and lots of practicing and question papers. Also, the teachers from e-Learning taught us how to answer MCQ's in Science. I benefitted a lot, and I wrote the exams well during that year
:Hlengiwe’s third-year overall experience and challenges (2021)
The challenges I had during this year of study were mostly trying to understand the concepts and some practical work we had to do. The work overload in a short time was stressing me out a lot. I felt like I was not doing enough to get through the work pressure. By God’s grace, I came through it successfully

DM MOTSOASELE, BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (SENIOR FET PHASE-MAJOR: MATHS AND SCIENCE) UNISA
Matriculated in 2016 and am currently a 4th year student studying for BEd (Senior and FET, major in Maths & Science). I got 6 distinctions. Ligbron exposed me to the developed technology of smart boards and online learning also to experience new ways of teaching. Inspired me to discover new ways of teaching Maths & Science effectively. It made me understand Maths and Science better than the traditional ways of teaching and made me interested in participating in class. Ligbron e-Learning made a difference in achieving my goals
Nontokozo’s overall fourth-year experience and challenges:
Studying during this pandemic was very challenging with all the lockdown, as I could not access some learning resources. Thankfully, I adapted to the changes, therefore I did my work and study

COMPUTER SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently studying Computer Science at UJ and am in my 2nd year. e-Learning was a great experience, and it helped me a lot by giving me extra lessons. It helped me to improve my marks, and I got access to university, which was such a great experience
:Hendrick’s overall experience and challenges
Using the online learning system was challenging at first as I was not used to it. But, as time went on it became much simpler as I was adjusting to the system, and I am proud to say I got the hang of things, eventually

NELLY MDAKA
MPHANAMA, BACHELOR OF COMMERCE, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
Passed matric in 2019. Is currently a 1st year student studying BCom at UJ. I got position 2 at my school with 2 distinctions in Accounting and Business Studies. As a student that wanted to pursue a career in Accounting, I had to have mathematics for me to qualify for the degree that I am currently enrolled in. Honestly, it was difficult for me in Grade 12 because I was having tough problems in Mathematics. I would pass all of my subjects exceptionally, but fail maths. The beginning of e-Learning was very challenging for me, as I had little understanding and background of the subject. But through the worksheets and lessons that we attended, I managed to at least pass during the 1st term until the very end of my Matric. I am impressed with the progress. I can say that with my dedication, my teacher's tireless effort, and also Ligbron e-Learning, I passed the subject. I am grateful that I had such a program because had I not attended we would have been saying otherwise. I hope other students realize the importance of this program and will also be willing to learn from it and execute what they have learned during their exams
Nelly’s overall experience and challenges during her second year of study:
Studying in the Covid-19 pandemic has been quite hectic, especially with time management. Because I was so scared of contracting the Corona Virus, I went back home to study there. So juggling home chores and school work has been a challenge. Another thing that was a struggle for me was not having my emails replied to as quickly as I would have liked them to be. I believe my marks dropped because I couldn’t get the help that I needed on time

LESEGO GULE
TSHWENYANE, APPRENTICESHIP IN TRADE TOOL JIG AND DIE MAKER
In 2017, I matriculated at Ligbron and received 75% for Maths and 83% for Science. Ligbron e-Learning made things easier for our Maths and Science teachers in such a way that the time they spent writing notes on the board by hand for us was dedicated to explaining and going into more detail about the chapter we were currently busy with. The interactions we had with other teachers and students made it easier for us to comprehend and understand the subject at large, the examples that they presented us with during the lesson were exceptional
I am currently busy with my apprenticeship in the trade Tool Jig and Die Maker. I got my apprenticeship through Denel Aeronautics and am currently busy doing my practicals at a company named F. Machele Engineering. I have 5 months left to complete my training. I will complete my apprenticeship at the end of 2021
SIMPHIWE MALINGA
SUIKERLAND, BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY, UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU-NATAL
I am currently studying MBChB - Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and I am in my fourth year of study at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. I completed matric in 2018 and I was No 2 in the District Top 10 Awards for 2018. I was the Golden Key Holder for the top 15 Top Achievers, Deans Commendation, and Merit Awards. e-Learning helped me to see the visuals of what I was taught and that of which I only learned in textbooks. I could observe experiments for physical science and practical questions for maths, which made my learning quite interesting and leveled my eagerness to learn more
Simphiwe’s overall experiences and challenges:
School has always been challenging, especially with Covid-19’s new regulations and protocols which all Universities must adhere to. That has resulted in online platforms being used to carry through our lessons. I have adjusted to online learning, although I have not done so fully, but I am getting there. I am also glad that my marks haven’t dropped as I am still standing at a pass rate of 85%. I have unfortunately lost out on some practical work that would have helped me gain the essential skills of a future doctor because of Covid-19, but I hope I will pick up over the holidays at my hometown’s local clinic to shadow the nurses and the doctors there

I matriculated in 2019 and am currently a 1st year student at Wits University studying Physics Major. One of my achievements this year was that I was one of the best students. I got 8 distinctions and I am doing 10 courses. Ligbron e-learning has helped me a lot this year as there was more online learning than physical lessons. I learned how to take notes and how to address questions formally and straight toward the point. e-Learning helped me a lot and I am grateful for all the work that you do
:Thabang’s overall experience
This year has been amazing. Online learning was really easy to adapt to because I was used to learning remotely. I believe that e-Learning prepared me well in advance with the online live transmissions as our school is currently using the same teaching platform. I am currently using the Funda group bursary

MPUMELELO TLOU
KHAYALAMI SECONDARY SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
I matriculated in 2019 and I am currently in my 1st year studying at EDUMAP college in Johannesburg as well as upgrading Maths & Science and will do Computer Science next year. My achievements were admission to Bachelor's degree (Grade 12 marks). The Ligbron e-Learning has helped me a lot in proving my marks. I used to struggle a lot in Maths and Science until our Grade 12 teacher introduced it to us. It is really a good project. I moved from level 1 to level 4. It gives good notes, examples, and exercise questions that prepare learners for the examinations. It also gives a good understanding of all the work in the syllabus. What I love the most about Ligbron e-Learning is that everything they teach is always in the examination question papers. Ligbron e-Learning is a good project; you will never go wrong with it. Mpumelelo is currently studying B. Com Accounting at UJ, she wanted to study Mechanical Engineering in 2021, but the course was already full. She is changing from her B. Com studies to Mechanical Engineering in 2022
Mpumelelo Tlou’s overall first-year experience and challenges:
Accounting Science is going well so far and I am doing very well as I achieved two distinctions for the first semester. But, I realized that the course that I am currently doing is not for me, and I don’t like it very much. I am still sceptical about changing my current course to Mechanical Engineering because I get a lot of discouragement from people around me. I believe that passion is the number one driving force for any career that one will pursue, especially for the rest of their life. I don’t want to be miserable every time I have to wake up to go to work because I don’t like what I am doing. So I have decided about changing to Mechanical Engineering in 2022. I applied for it earlier on in the year and I am glad to say that they have offered me space and I will register for my first year of study in January 2022. I am a National Student Financial Aid Scheme beneficiary and I will continue using it for my studies in Mechanical Engineering as well. Studying during this pandemic was challenging for me as there were no contact classes and we had online classes where I would struggle a lot with network connectivity, which would make me miss certain parts of the lessons

I matriculated in 2019 and am currently a 1st year student at the University of Limpopo. I am doing my BSC in physics and minerals. Ligbron e-Learning contributed a lot to my studies. It helped me answer the maths and science questions. It has invested the love of maths and science, from the day I started attending the transmissions, it made me change my mind about seeing maths and science as difficult. Those lectures played a huge role in my life, and even now I am not struggling to compile university work and school work because I have a solid foundation from school

SIMPHIWE MTHEMBU
LD MOETANALO, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN IT, UNIVERSITY OF FREE STATE
Completed matric in 2017 and is currently enrolled at the University of Free State doing a BSc in IT. The online lessons we attended from Ligbron e-Learning were so productive in such a way that my grades in Physical Science and Maths improved. At the end of the year, I passed my matric with a Bachelor’s. Ligbron e-Learning played a huge role in my matric academic year and it actually influenced my career choice. When I was in matric, I was not sure about the career I wanted to pursue. My career choice came because of the online classes we had. Every time we had a lesson, I would be curious about how the apps that we used came about, the network connections, how the system works, and everything that made those classes a success and I would want to know more, hence I went with IT. That is how the Ligbron e-Learning project contributed to my ability to study
Simphiwe’s overall experience and challenges:
Studying under the pandemic has been very challenging. Most of the modules that I am enrolled in are practical modules, and they require me to be in the lab, which was not possible because of the lockdown regulations. They forced me to learn some practical things, like coding on my own, and it was very difficult. The lecturers were available, but it was not the same as face-to-face contact sessions where I could make an appointment with the lecturer and have them explain the content in person. We had to rely on emails. During all those challenges, I had to make sure that I passed so that the institution does not exclude me

ARIANA COOKE
PHILIP NDIMANDE SECONDARY, SCHOOL, AGRICULTURE: PLANT PRODUCTION, UNIVERSITY OF MPUMALANGA
My name is Ariana Cooke, I matriculated last year (2019) at Phillip Ndimande Secondary School. I am currently studying a Diploma in Agriculture: Plant Production course at the University of Mpumalanga. I am a first-year student, studying a 3-year course. During my matric year, I achieved my goals by getting good results and finally my matric certificate. As for this year, I passed semester 1 with outstanding results. I am so happy to share how Ligbron e-Learning contributed to my studies to get me where I am today. My science and maths performance was poor before I was introduced to Ligbron e-Learning, I started attending online classes, and it was easy to comprehend. At first, it was a challenge to stay behind in the afternoon, but it was worth it and I began to enjoy the classes. We were doing the activities and going through examples together with the educator, which made it easier for us to grasp. Another good part was when we got a chance to ask questions for clarity and the teacher would not mind starting all over again. There was a great improvement in my performance, and I was so happy to get good results at the end of the year, with my science and maths marks it was easy to apply at Higher Institutions. I could not have done it without Mr. Sabadza. I highly recommend the Ligbron e-Learning project to all the schools in the country.
:My second year overall experiences and challenges (2021)
Studying in this pandemic was horrible. Well, at first it was okay until we had to write semester tests online. Attending classes using Microsoft Teams was a challenge because not all lecturers are used to using such teaching platforms, and we students also found it difficult to communicate with the lecturers during those online classes because of background noises either coming from the students or the teachers. That alone disturbs the whole session. Sometimes I would lose network while asking a question. The writing of tests aspect was terrible. First, agriculture is very broad and one cannot just think of only what is written on the lecture slides, but we are required to be creative. So we encounter challenges when answering the questions because we end up failing them because the marking system has been programmed to have only one correct answer, which is taught in class and on the lecture slides. Agricultural engineering was the worst since we could only write the final answer and submit it, there was no slot given to us to submit our calculation work. It is a disadvantage for us because we all have different methods of calculations and time is very limited when we are writing, so there is a lot of pressure to finish in time. As I conclude, it has crossed my mind that this new online learning system is something we have to get used to and improve on using until it is helpful to both students and lecturers. At the rate things are going, we need to normalize studying from home

VUSI SIHLANGU
T.P SILILO, METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
I matriculated in 2017 and am currently in my final year at UJ. I am one of the best learners in class. We used to get summarized notes for all the chapters we were doing, this was helpful especially when we were about to write a test or exam to revise easier without going back to a textbook. We used to get a lot of previous question papers which helped us to practice more, this was important because in Maths and Science nothing is more important than a lot of practice
During the live transmission we used to be taught by very good teachers (the best in the Province) and we could interact with them and ask as many questions as we liked. We could also interact with other pupils from other schools through this program. I can honestly say that this program contributed to my success as I could get distinctions in both Maths and Science as I got 83% and 95% respectively. With these good marks, I could get a sponsor to further my studies at the University of Johannesburg in Chemical Engineering. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Ligbron e-Learning and all the stakeholders for the sterling job they are doing in developing our country. This initiative is one of the good examples to say that as a country we are
Vusi’s overall experience and challenges:
Studying during the pandemic was difficult, as entry into campus was restricted. We had no chance to have one-on-one sessions with the professors. It was difficult to have full access to laboratories to conduct experiments and research. Studying at home was the worst because the study environment there was not conducive as there would be load shedding and it would disturb me with some of my online classes. Another challenge I had was with the tests: I believe our lecturers made our tests a lot more difficult because most of them were open-book tests

SNOW
ZACHEUS MALAZA SECONDARY SCHOOL, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE, SEFAKO MAKGATHO UNIVERSITY
Matriculated in 2017. Currently studying at Sefako Makgatho Health Science University and is a 3 rd year student. I achieved Top 5 learners in Grade 11 at Leonard Ntshuntshe Secondary School (received a tablet from Vodacom), at University I got 3 distinctions out of the 5 modules that I was doing in my 1 st year. The Ligbron e-Learning gave me free quality education in Grade 11 & 12 which helped me a lot in preparing for my tests and exams. I passed my Grade 11 & 12 very well. I got only 1 distinction (Life Orientation) in Grade 12, level 5 in Maths, and level 6 in other subjects. I could balance my subjects and my average was very good, which gave me an easy entry to one of the best South African Health Science Universities. I continued to do well also from my 1 st year until now and am in my final year. Ligbron e-Learning went far in helping me gain confidence in my studies and in being able to make group studies which are essential especially when moving to a high level of learning. Even today I am still grateful for the qualities of education I got from the Ligbron e-Learning project and I hope they continue changing many lives and leading learners to success as they did for me
:Snow’s overall experience during her post-graduate year of study (2021)
To be honest, I didn’t have many challenges this year. Even academically, the work was manageable. I used my phone to keep track of assignment deadlines, study times, and lecture times. My phone was my personal assistant. I would say studying online during this pandemic was more effective for me than the usual contact classes, as it gave me sufficient time to focus on concepts that I struggled with

KWAZAMOKUHLE, STA, MEDICINE, SEFAKO MAKGATHO HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY - STA COAL GAVE HIM A BURSARY TO GO AND STUDY
I am going to be enrolled in the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, taking the MBCHB program. I was doing matric last year 2020, and I could make it with seven distinctions. Ligbron e-Learning is the ultimate key to success given to me on a silver platter
Consistency with the right strategic plan is the fundamental quality one may ever need to succeed. I forever strive to be a person of action and good deeds, Ligbron e-Learning with me ensured I am fully equipped and provided me with a vessel full of hope
In simplest terms, I would say Ligbron e-Learning made learning unchallenging, one may ask how? I believe technology is just a tool to get students together and motivate them. The teacher is most important. Ligbron e-Learning provided us with teachers who are patient, good listeners, and forever strived for us to have educated minds. I am grateful
Second, Ligbron e-Learning ensured that we have handouts hard copies to work on individually each week. I believe success is 20% skills and 80% strategy, through the work-handouts strategy, it was rooted in our minds that there’s only one growth strategy and that is to work hard, it marked the improvement of my marks, I am thankful
We were also offered online classes weekly, truth be told, “alone we can do little, together we can do so much “our interaction between students and different teachers marked our divine growth and helped us manifest our greatness, academically improving our marks, it was a true innovation. I am truly appreciative
I overheard someone say if education is truly the key then let’s all be socialists and struggle to make it free to all instead of making it expensive daily, being offered a bursary through Ligbron e-Learning and being able to study Medicine, I believe I have been given that platform as a young adult to unleash my greatness and showcase my full potential I will forever be thankful
In conclusion, there are no secrets to success it results from preparation, hard work, willingness, and having Ligbron e-Learning by your side

The Covid-19 pandemic has become a part of our lives and has changed almost every aspect of life. So I do my best to stay calm and live as normally as possible while protecting myself and others around me. My social life lacked tremendously because of the Covid-19 restrictions. I am very much grateful for that experience because I used that time to study to my full potential, which paid off because I got distinctions for all my first term modules. I wouldn’t say I had the full standardized way of life of a university student, as we attended online lessons and didn’t have proper contact classes. I have adjusted to the online learning method, and I am doing my best not to let the pandemic affect me

Vusi’s overall experience and challenges:
The first time I attended a Ligbron e-Learning session, I was not thrilled. First, I used to hate visual learning vehemently because I thought it doesn’t give us a platform to engage with our teachers effectively. Second, I love and understand a colourful lesson delivered by a teacher, so I thought Ligbron e-Learning would just bring me black and white sessions. All I thought, was I wrong and was I too early to criticize because I enjoyed my first class in Science with Ligbron e-Learning. Seeing that it gave me a platform to engage with that teacher who was delivering a lesson helped me a lot because I knew where to go if I overlooked a question or if I was simply wrong. The project made me enjoy Maths, mind you, it had the lowest marks on my subjects, but Ligbron e-Learning came through, and I did better in every topic we had. I have an open mind today because of it, in our school, they used to combine two classes prior to Covid-19, of course, and everyone will share their ideas on how to tackle a problem in different ways. Safely, I could say, it increased my depth of thinking. Today I am doing Philosophy and Politics, so I can use my depth of thinking to critique and question things that are existing and things that are about to exist

I matriculated in 2019 and am currently a third-year student at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Extraction Metallurgy. Ligbron e-Learning provided smart boards for my school's maths and science classes in order to make studying much easier than when using your typical chalkboard. It was effective and frankly saved a lot of time while making us understand certain concepts easier. It helped teachers do things more accurately than they would've, things such as drawing graphs were drawn more clearly for us to understand. Ligbron e-Learning made my school believe that technology does really make life easier. I can say that my understanding of the concepts they taught me because of the contributions you made to my school really means that you have played a role in my ability to study at University
:Chantel’s challenges during her second year of study
Having to study during the pandemic with online learning has not been easy, as it frustrates students like me in their second year when it is not at all like the first year of study. What I mean is that in the first year, things are a little easier as we are still doing introductory modules, and also tests were reasonable and a little easier because of the pandemic. Sometimes I wish I could go back to campus and study there because it is hard to pass these online tests due to time constraints and the fact that they make the tests harder because it is an open book kind of assessment

Ligbron e-Learning was extremely useful, it helped me so much. Especially Physical Sciences. My teachers used Afrikaans words, so I couldn’t follow them precisely, that’s why I ran to Ligbron e-Learning, and it thrilled me at the end of the year because my Physical Sciences marks were way better than the previous years
Anele’s challenges and overall experience during his first year of study:
“My first year at the University of Johannesburg was really not bad. There are quite some challenges such as time management. There was not a lot of work at the beginning of the first two months because registration was finalized late for most universities, and here I thought I had all the time in the world to relax, and I just went with the flow. I would go out with friends and just chill and catch up on my favourite television shows while I waited for things to settle down regarding late registrations. When the assignment deadlines started rolling in, it was when I realized time was not on my side, so I did my best to catch up, and I am glad that I realized that sooner than later. I struggled a lot with data and networks to connect to the online lessons, which made me lose out on a lot of work as I was studying from home. I caught up on my work, which I am really grateful for”

:Thandolwethu’s overall first year of study experience and challenges (2021)
Studying in this pandemic was rather very challenging, as I was expecting to have the full experience of attending lecture halls and having direct interaction with the lecturers themselves. That did not happen because of the Covid-19 restrictions. I humbly embraced the situation of online lessons via Apps such as Zoom, where I could attend lectures in the comfort of my space. Stacy’s Challenges and overall first-year experience:
This year (2021) has not been a pleasant one for me because the bursary that funded my education only paid for my tuition fees and accommodation, whereas I had to figure out what I would eat daily. Another challenge for me was the course itself. I am used to getting distinctions in all my subjects. When I started using Ligbron e-Learning, I noticed that there was a change in my marks, they started improving, and I think that’s because Ligbron e-Learning has a particular way of tackling questions. The questions that were provided by Ligbron e-Learning were more advanced than the questions that I used to do and that helped me in increasing my level of thinking. Ligbron e-Learning also provided us with hints on how to tackle some questions in Maths and Science when writing exams, and also what was required from us as learners. Last, when the exams came I could tackle most of my questions with ease and I passed my exams with flying colours, all thanks to Ligbron e-Learning
:Mfuneko’s overall experience and challenges during his first year of study
Going to Cape Town had been a long-term dream of mine, and to have it fulfilled at the expense of going there to study is a bonus. One challenge that really broke me was my first semester marks. I am used to being an A student, little did I know things would get tough for me. Having to adjust to the new way of doing things with the Covid-19 pandemic, moving to a completely different province, and having to find my way around campus and making assignment deadlines took a toll on me. I was an average student, which does not sit well with me, but I am doing my best in ensuring that I pass my first year

CHILIZA PRINCE
MPHANAMA, BSC ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF WITWATERSRAND
Ligbron e-Learning helped me to get final clarification if I did not understand a topic in class, also it helped me to catch up with the work when I was behind. Ligbron e-Learning is indeed a way forward and should be available to every school in SA. I believe every learner needs it, since the people who even set the question papers will teach them, and they will be guarded on what to do and not to do
Chiliza’s first year challenges and overall experience:
My first year experience was the toughest and greatest at the same time. Since we are doing everything in relation to our academics online, it is quite difficult to engage with our lecturers. I really was not expecting this. I also thought I would chill at university, having a few assignments here and there because it was not like high school where I would have to focus on over five subjects per semester, and boy was I wrong. The pressure is extremely high, but luckily I am getting used to it

Best student particular in Science subjects, enrolling at University. e-Learning helped me to recognize my hidden potential that might become a great student by bringing all the material that I needed to enhance my understanding
:Thabani’s overall experience and challenges
My first year at the University of KwaZulu-Natal was great, as I grasped most content of my course quickly. Although we had online classes, I adjusted pretty well to having to work in the comfort of my space. I would hear most university students saying that they are struggling with the concept of studying online. For me, that wasn’t a problem, because e-Learning prepared me in advance for that with the transmissions we would get back in High School. I am grateful for the e-Learning program because its fruits are still paying off for me even after High School. One aspect of studying I would say was challenging for me, would have to be doing my practicals for my teacher’s portfolio. I had to teach learners who were older than I am, and most of them would think that they know better than I am, and they would undermine my authority and would not want to co-operate with me. It was difficult to control most of the learners I was teaching, but I got the hang of it in the end

WISEMAN MABUZA
MASIZAKHE, ACTUARIAL SCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN
Ligbron e-Learning contributed about 65% of my achievements. For me, it was really helpful given that we did not have a full year to do our matric. I took advantage of the videos and recorded lessons at my school when I was at home during the lockdown and when we went back to school I was already aware of most of the concepts and had a great ability to answer exam-based questions, which is why I adored and preferred Ligbron e-Learning videos. When the exams came, I could pass very well
Wiseman’s overall first-year experience and challenges:
So far, my first year has been going well, although there were a few challenges I encountered, such as being taught online and not having the full “hall lectures” experience. At least then, I can ask questions directly on certain aspects that are giving me a hard time. But with non-contact online classes, it becomes difficult to do so. Another issue I had was the slow network connectivity, which would be bad making me miss some important information. Luckily, most of our recorded lessons were saved, so I could go back, and sit through what I had missed

PHILIP NDIMANDE, MEDICINE AND SURGERY SPECIALISATION, UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN
I matriculated in 2020 during the Coronavirus which was by far the most difficult year for me as I had to adapt to this huge change of not attending class every day, the constant sanitizing of hands, and having to wear a mask all day in class which gets uncomfortable making it difficult to even concentrate in class. I am grateful for the e-Learning experience through online learning as it not only prepared me for what I am going to do right now at University with the online lectures. It also contributed to my academics. From Grade 11, they exposed me to high-order questions which aided in understanding concepts, which I am sincerely grateful for
:Andiswa’s overall first-year experience and challenges
My first-year experience was okay, although the amount of workload was a lot for me. I would say this whole experience made me learn a lot about myself because it strengthened my ability to work very well under pressure. The first semester was tricky for me because I lacked motivation and discipline, so time management was a struggle for me. I solved this problem by keeping a diary and writing all the activities and the commitments I would need to do for the day. That really kept my life in order, and I am glad to say that I am now on top of things

BONGINSIMBI, KOMATSU, NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Ligbron e-Learning was very helpful. I got to understand things I didn’t understand in class while the teacher was teaching. Since 2020 was a rough year for me, Ligbron e-Learning could assist me with concepts that were challenging and that we did not cover in class. We really appreciate Ligbron e-Learning to help us with the program
Zandi’s overall first-year experience and challenges:
My first year was quite challenging, especially during this pandemic. I was really looking forward to the lecture hall experience, but because of Covid-19’s restrictions and protocols, we had to watch live lectures from our own spaces. I would struggle a lot with network connectivity and I would sometimes miss some aspects of what the lecturers taught, luckily the online lectures would be recorded, and I would go back and watch the parts that I missed. Another thing that I struggled with was disciplining myself since we were learning in the comfort of our own space. I would procrastinate a lot with the studying that I would have planned to do on a particular day, which would be a problem as it would cause “academic traffic congestion” (my definition of a lot of studying that I would have to do). But I am glad that I got through the first semester failing no module. Last, I struggled a lot with a module called Structured Programming. I am not very good with computers, and therefore I would say that is my weakness. I am grateful for the whole years’ experience as it groomed me and I came out a lot stronger.

At the beginning of 2020, they introduced us to the Ligbron e-Learning program. We would attend the sessions 2 times a week, doing Science and Maths. I was not up to my usual standard in Maths and Science. I was getting 60% sometimes 70%, but I knew I could get 80% and above. Ligbron e-Learning provided that. I will never forget how excited I was when I started understanding Vertical Projectile Motion after attending a session at Ligbron e-Learning. Unfortunately, we could not attend many sessions because of the pandemic, but the sessions we could attend helped me a lot. I could achieve 96% in Science and 95% in Maths. I am very lucky that I could attend the Ligbron e-Learning sessions, and I hope that the Ligbron e-Learning program will be introduced to more schools

I would really like to thank the Ligbron e-Learning staff because I have benefited a lot from the live transmissions and the learning material that was provided for us. The textbooks the School gave us were helpful. The e-Learning study material and notes are more simplified, straight to the point, and they have a lot of examples, which is good practice for us
I saw my marks gradually improving, as well as my understanding of most topics. I got 81% for Mathematics and 91% for Physical Sciences. I also received a trophy and a certificate from the Mpumalanga Department of Education for the NSC District Academic Award, Grade 12, 2021. The lessons we got from Ligbron’s e-Learning were easy, interesting, and cool to watch with the graphics used to show illustrations. I also discovered a lot of methods of tackling various questions and ideas on how to improve my skills and knowledge. This added up to a better version of myself, and I am at University because of the help that I got from Ligbron. Keep up the good work, Ligbron. I miss the teaching staff already
AYABONGA KHANYILE
INDALA HIGH SCHOOL, CURRENTLY IN GRADE 12
I started using e-Learning technology in 2021 when I was in Grade 11. It helped me get a distinction in Mathematics. I am fascinated with this technology, and I am motivated and eager to learn Mathematics and Physical Sciences using this technology. Indeed, this technology does not disappoint me. Live transmissions are helping me to merge what the teacher had already taught. The colourful Smart Board made every concept taught clearer, especially graphs, diagrams, and the colour of elements, molecules, and compounds in Physical Sciences. Extra notes and assessment tasks that we received also helped us a lot in terms of revision. Digi Campus also helps us to revise at home. Now in Grade 12, I am definitely sure that e-Learning will help me further in order to get distinctions in both Maths and Physical Sciences. I want to pay my gratitude to e-Learning for forwarding us with this great technology and hope that every learner will use this rare opportunity to empower themselves and achieve in life
DLADLA SGCINO
KWA-NXUSA HIGH SCHOOL, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
I matriculated in 2021, and I am glad to say that I am in my first year of study at the University of Johannesburg. I achieved 62% for Mathematics and 74% for Physical Sciences in my final Grade 12 marks. No words can describe how thankful I am for the Ligbron e-Learning project that contributed to my success in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. e-Learning helped me a lot with its aspect of being able to access the live transmission videos in the comfort of our own spaces. There would be topics I struggled with or that I didn’t grasp efficiently during transmission classes. So having the videos accessible anywhere and outside school, hours was what I was grateful for the most. I would sleep very late catching up and that paid off for me and for that I am forever thankful to Mondi for being our school’s sponsor for e-Learning and for everyone involved in the e-Learning project. The words of encouragement that I have for learners with the e-Learning system project would be to use every tool given to them to help better their marks: From the videos, live transmissions, question papers to the revision questions and the revision live sessions
CECILIA MATSHINHE
FREEDOM PARK, BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
First, I would kindly like to thank the sponsors, the instructors, and everyone else who ensured that as Freedom Park Secondary School learners, we got to have the e Learning sessions. Ligbron’s e-Learning was truly an eye-opener. I had a wonderful experience and the lectures are great for interacting with us. With the fun way that the lectures are presented, it became easier for me to remember what I was taught because I believe that my photographic memory is very active, especially at my age. The Ligbron e-Learning sessions had a positive effect on my Mathematics performance, as I was an under-average performer. I improved to 60% in Mathematics on my final marks. The revision classes that we had before the final examinations helped me a lot because there were last-minute points they gave me regarding trigonometry that I applied that worked to my advantage. I am also glad that I got to be taught by a Ligbron teacher who sets the examinations as well. The prepared notes they gave us also came to my rescue because they were easy to understand

Ligbron e-Learning really helped me. I was doing Grade 10 when the e-Learning technology was installed at Retshedisitwe Secondary School. The time they installed it was like an answer to my prayers because we did not have a Physical Sciences teacher. Fast-forwarding to 2021 while I was doing my Grade 12, the recorded lessons and the live transmissions helped me discover my shortcomings and where I lacked, especially if there was some learning content that I didn’t grasp in the classroom. The revision classes before the final examinations really came through for me because they helped me see where I went wrong during my trial examinations. Without the help of e-Learning teachers and resources, I wouldn’t have achieved the marks that I got for Mathematics, which is 92%, and for Physical Sciences, which is 87%. I also got distinctions in Life Sciences; Geography and Life Orientation. They also invited me to Free State’s Well Done function at Free State. I am now at the University of Cape Town studying Actuarial Science, and I am looking forward to this journey
LINDOKUHLE PATRICIA NKOSI
ITHAFA, BACHELOR OF EDUCATION
I am 26 years old, born and raised in Ermelo. I am a former learner at Ithafa MSTA School. It was always more of a goal than a dream to be an educator and because of e-Learning, my goal became a reality. I am a qualified teacher, teaching Mathematics and Physical Sciences, working at Ithafa MSTA School. I completed my Matric 2012 with the help of Ligbron e-Learning. I benefited from Ligbron e-Learning and it was a crucial tool in bringing convenience to my education. They taught us Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I always knew that even if I was falling behind, I would attend Ligbron e-Learning after school to help me do extremely well. They provided us with materials and learning tools that brought alternatives to what we were taught in class. This provided us with different and new skills on how to solve problems. Lessons were clear, effective, and broken down in a simple way
I really enjoyed attending the classes because even though classes were conducted online but they gave us an opportunity to ask and express ourselves which gave me an opportunity to explore and expand my knowledge. The content was relevant to the curriculum and rationalized this made me develop an interest to pursue my career in Mathematics and Science fraternity. Ligbron e-Learning exposed me to technological use since our school was disadvantaged. It led to better retention of information caused by watching an educator on a screen than reading through pages manually makes you remember information easily. It offered opportunities for learners with unique preferences
With Ligbron e-Learning I could teach other learners what I have been taught. I always loved Mathematics, and it was a great experience to be studying something that I enjoy and passionate about. I improved my marks through Ligbron e-Learning because they made learning FUN
MPHO KOBAYI
GERSON NTJIE, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE, WITWATERSRAND UNIVERSITY
I matriculated in 2021, and I am currently pursuing a qualification in Bachelor of Sciences in Biological Science. I used to get a moderate mark of 40% in Mathematics and 40% in Physical Sciences. It used to bother me a lot that I had very low self-esteem regarding my Maths and Physical Sciences marks. I then used all the e-Learning study material effectively, from the saved video transmissions, the printed out notes, and the previous question papers and memorandums. To my surprise, I got 64% in Mathematics and 64% in Physical Sciences. All thanks to e-Learning, I could qualify for the current qualification that I am pursuing
The Ligbron e-Learning program is not only School-based to impart knowledge to me, in addition, but it also contributed to the growth orientation culture and critical thinking. Considering the Covid-19 pandemic, I found the Ligbron classes more helpful than any other education website and program. The alternative and complex methods that unfolded during lessons enabled me to not only think of what I get as output but also what I do. My marks have really improved. Mathematics had always been a challenge for me since Grade 10, but the lectures and teachers that were elected for the e-Learning extra classes made it really easy for us. With all that being said, my performance is thanks to the Ligbron e-Learning program and our School teachers, of course
EMELDA SEBATI
MASOBE, BACHELOR OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT,UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO
I completed my Secondary Education at Masobe Secondary School in 2021, and I am currently enrolled at the University of Limpopo, studying towards a Bachelor of Business Management degree. There was a slight improvement in my Mathematics and Physical Sciences marks. I got to level 2 for Physical Sciences in the third term, and I improved to 52% (level 4) in my final term
Ligbron’s e-Learning has been by far my School’s greatest investment in our education. The transmission classes really helped us improve where we lacked, especially if we didn’t grasp the lessons our school's class teachers gave us. We would also access the lessons given by the Ligbron teachers even offline, which helped us save up on our data. Once we downloaded the e-Learning App, everything was automatically installed, from the recorded videos to the lessons notes and previous question papers and memorandums for a tiny amount of data. I believe that here, e-Learning helped us be economically wise with data. We really learned a lot from Ligbron’s e-Learning and on behalf of my classmates and me, we really would like to extend gratitude for the initiative as it is the future of our generation and even generations to come
LEBOGANG PANYANE
MOSES MAREN, DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, NELSON MANDELA UNIVERSITY
I matriculated in 2021 at Moses Maren Technical School, and I am currently in my first year at the Tshwane University of Technology, pursuing a Diploma in Information Technology. Information Technology was not my first choice of study, as I had hoped that I would get space to study at Sefako Makgatho University for Radiology, unfortunately, I only received my acceptance from the university after I had registered for Information Technology. I am thinking of enrolling in Radiology at Sefako Makgatho University in 2023
Being in the class of 2021 was never easy. Everything we did was under a lot of pressure, but that didn’t last for long as new and advanced ways of learning were introduced to us. I have always been worried about my schoolwork since the Covid-19 pandemic attacked us. Ligbron’s e-Learning was then introduced to us, and I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. We would attend from 15h00 to 16h00 on weekdays. The way they structured everything with e-Learning, from the transmissions to the lesson notes and also past question papers and memos, I asked myself “how do they make Mathematics and Physical Sciences look so easy”. We had nothing but the best online teachers, and I was so happy that I even got better marks than before
I got 76% for Mathematics, where I would score an average of 50s in the first, second and third terms; I got 61% for Physical Sciences, where I would score around the 40s in the previous terms of 2021. I also appreciate how there was always someone on standby at Ligbron for when we would encounter technical problems. Whoever implemented these online lessons really deserves to be crowned. I would love for Ligbron’s e-Learning to continue hosting these online classes for current and future matriculates so that they can live to testify and share their experiences as I did
SIPHOKAZI MHLONGO
KWAN-XUSA HIGH SCHOOL, MEDICINE, WALTER SISULU UNIVERSITY
I matriculated in 2021, and I am currently pursuing my first-year studies in Medicine at Walter Sisulu University. At the end of the first term during my Grade 12 studies, I received trophies and medals for being one of the best students in Grade 12 at Kwan-Xusa High School. That motivated me a lot, as I saw I had the potential to achieve even better marks. I am glad to say that at the end of my matric year I achieved 79% in Mathematics and 86% in Physical Sciences
In the middle of January 2022, after we received our Grade 12 marks, I received a certificate and a laptop from Mthonjaneni Local Municipality for being the third-best learner in the whole district of Mthonjaneni. A million thanks go to my teachers and the Ligbron e-Learning teachers, as they contributed immensely to my success
The e-Learning project helped me a lot with the revision questions that we went through with the teachers during the revision sessions. I was fortunate enough to see exactly what I did wrong during my trial examinations with the revision classes that we had with the Ligbron teachers. The teachers from Ligbron helped show us the different approaches to questions they might ask us in the exam, and because of that, I achieved the marks that I gained in my Grade 12 final marks for Mathematics and Physical Sciences

I believe I am “green-fingered” as I can make plants grow, so I thought to myself that if I have the talent, then I can get the proper technical training and qualification on plants with this degree
Ligbron e-Learning has played a huge role in my academics, as they have provided me with a chance to re-learn topics that I wasn’t able to understand in class. Through the transmissions and lessons, I learned a lot of alternative ways of tackling certain questions in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Another aspect of Ligbron e-Learning that I appreciated was the notes that they furnished us with. The notes are simplified and are straight to the point, which helped reduce the time that I would take making notes. I pray that all textbooks that are provided by the Department of Education in High school reach the level of e-Learning resources. I am also grateful for the revision lessons that we got to attend before our final examinations. I got a lot of pointers and that prepared me really well
My marks improved from 49% (level 3) in the third term in Mathematics to 67% (level 5), and in Physical Sciences from level 4 (50%-59%) in the third term to 71% (level 6) in the final term. For an average student like me, that was a huge improvement, and I have my school teachers and Ligbron e-Learning to thank for that

REIKAELETSE, BACHELOR OF TOWN AND REGIONAL PLANNING, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
I have recently completed my High School education at Reikaeletse Secondary School in 2021, and I am enrolled at the University of Pretoria studying for a Bachelor of Town and Regional Planning. It makes me happy and super proud of myself for embarking on a qualification that is mostly dominated by men. I received a bursary from the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, whichcovers courses in Built Environment
Ligbron’s e-Learning has assisted me in over one way. First, the videos helped me a lot where I could have access to them even in the comfort of my place. Sometimes I would be absent, but with e-Learning’s catch-up recorded classes, I wouldn’t fall behind with lessons in the classrooms. The lesson notes also helped me because they are more simplified, and they are basically additions to what our textbooks are missing. I like the fact that they have a lot of examples for every topic. The more I practiced with the examples in my e-Learning study material, the more I understood the concepts and what would be expected of me at the end
ZAAKIRAH COOVADIA
BALFOUR COMBINED, UNIVERSITY OF WITWATERSRAND, BACHELOR OF PHARMACY
I matriculated in 2021 at Balfour combined School, and I am currently enrolled at the University of Witwatersrand, studying for the Bachelor of Pharmacy
I have got distinctions for two of the most important subjects, that being Mathematics, where I got 84%, and Physical Sciences, where I got 86%. I say they are critical subjects because they are the requirements for the qualification that I am studying for. They invited me to the Sasol Merit Awards, of which I received a certificate for getting distinctions in all my subjects except for Life Orientation
Ligbron e-Learning helped me greatly in the live transmissions as I think it helps to have another teacher explain the work because sometimes, the e-Learning teachers would give a different method of teaching from our School’s teachers where I would prefer and understand the methods of teaching that the Ligbron e-Learning teachers would use. Ligbron e-Learning really helped me during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with the lack of face-to-face learning, as it helped to have extra help and resources. I would advise all learners who have e-Learning at their disposal to use it wisely, as this is a rare golden opportunity that not all schools have access to it
ALEX MBUYANE
UMZIMVELO, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
I matriculated in 2021 at Umzimvelo Secondary School, and I am currently pursuing my studies at the University of Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. I got five distinctions which include Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I got 81% for Mathematics and 80% for Physical Sciences. I was also the best overall learner in 2021. To be honest, I could not have achieved these marks if it was not for the help I received from Ligbron e-Learning teachers
I would like to express my gratitude to the Ligbron e-Learning team for the work that they individually did to ensure that we have a smooth learning experience. They have played a very essential role in me attaining distinctions in Maths and Science. It helped me most with the past question papers so that we could see exactly how the examiners constructed the questions. That helped me save enough time on practicing questions that really needed a lot of attention. The study notes that were ready-made for us helped me again save time as I would previously spend a lot of time, on constructing useful notes for the exams. The information given to us, combined with what our teachers taught us in the classroom, was worthwhile
NONTOKOZO MCHUNU
CANDABATHULE SECONDARY SCHOOL, ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING, DURBAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
I matriculated in 2021, and I am currently pursuing my first year in BTech Diploma at Durban University of Technology. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity of getting to use the e-Learning technology, which assisted me in getting a 68% for Mathematics and 56% for Physical Sciences. I would say for me that is a huge improvement as I scored 60% for Mathematics and 48% for Physical Sciences in the second term
The e-Learning classes helped me a lot with their understandable notes and coloured pictures, as I am a visual and spatial learner. I learn very quickly with coloured pictures and diagrams. What I appreciate the most with e-Learning are the live sessions we used to attend as a class. The fact that we as learners were able to respond when the teacher asked questions, and in turn, we were able to ask questions if there were aspects of the lessons we wouldn’t understand, made me feel at home. I certainly would recommend that all schools in South Africa have Ligbron e-Learning as it is a great investment for future generations. And to those learners who have Ligbron e-Learning already, may they use it wisely and make the most of this awesome opportunity
SIYABONGA MPIKO
THUBALETHU HIGH SCHOOL, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
I matriculated in 2021 at Thubalethu High School and I got a Bachelor’s to pass along with 6 Distinctions, leaving Life Orientation to get a full house. I am happy to say I got 87 in Mathematics and 81% in Physical Sciences, as these two subjects are the key to pursuing my qualification in Electrical Engineering. I can officially say I am a first-year student at the University of Pretoria. I was a Top Achiever in the Amathole West district. The Premier of Eastern Cape, Mr. Oscar Lubabalo Mabuyane recognizing my hard work, offered me a scholarship to study at a University of my choice
I come from a very poor background and I didn’t have access to other helpful resources such as study guides and data to watch recorded lessons as I could not afford them. Ligbron e-Learning came to my rescue as they sponsored our School with the learning equipment at no cost to us. It assisted me a lot in the revision aspect of Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I did not attend Saturday classes, but with the help of transmissions and also the live recorded lessons, I could catch up on topics I needed more clarity on. The learning material printed out to us was also very helpful, and I would say they were more helpful than our textbooks as there were a lot of practical examples and approaches to questions
Ligbron’s e-Learning is very useful, and I can’t wait for it to be made available to all the schools all over South Africa. I am grateful to Sasol for being our sponsor and for all that the e-Learning team is doing to ensure that we had a smooth experience using the e-Learning equipment

e-Learning has contributed so much to my academics, especially in Physical Sciences and Mathematics. First, the live transmissions helped me a lot in putting emphasis on the lessons we would also get with our school teachers’ lessons. They say that repetition is a master teacher, and I totally agree, as we would get additional lessons with e-Learning. I also appreciate the revision classes we had before writing the final exams. Those revision classes helped guide us into what we should expect in our Maths and Physical Sciences examinations. Last, the questions papers that were uploaded for us to practice with were quite helpful as I would struggle with picking the questions papers I needed to practice with. I would like to thank Mondi for being our sponsor and the Ligbron eLearning for starting this educational initiative

INDALA HIGH SCHOOL, BIOMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY, MANGOSUTHU UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
I matriculated in 2021, at Indala High School, and I am currently a first-year student at the Mangosuthu University of Technology studying toward a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory. I started at Indala High School in the year 2020, and I had very low marks in Mathematics and Physical Sciences from my previous school because I had no effective resources. I would normally get level 4 for Mathematics and level 3 for Physical Sciences. But when I started using Ligbron’s e-Learning, I improved to a level 5(62%) in Mathematics and level 6(70%) in Physical Sciences
When I first got into Indala High School, I noticed that learners doing Mathematics and Physical Sciences were using smart boards for their lessons. I was happy because now I had access to better learning resources. The e-Learning teachers helped me understand Physical Sciences better because they had a different teaching approach that differed completely from our teachers’. The teaching approaches from the Ligbron e-Learning teachers and our schools are different, unique, and helpful in their own ways
The study material print-outs we got from the Ligbron e-Learning system are of great help because they have a lot of examples, they derived questions to help us practice and solutions to help show us how different answers. There are also videos that show how different solutions came about
I would really like to thank Ligbron’s eLearning system for this initiative, as it made a huge impact on my future as an individual because of the marks I got

I have completed my High School education, successfully. I matriculated in 2021 at Kwan-Xusa High school, and I am currently pursuing my tertiary level education at Majuba TVET college studying Mechanical Engineering
e-Learning has really helped improve my Physical Sciences marks. During the third term, I achieved 58% in Physical Sciences, and now I have improved by 9% making me achieve a final mark of 67%. The e-Learning classes are presented in the most fun way ever. The graphic illustrations used to show certain topics made it easy for me to remember most of the work. Physical Sciences for me is a subject that requires practical demonstrations of what is being taught. For instance, in one session they taught us about momentum and how the different masses influenced it. There were literally animated examples where when the e-Learning teacher would add the different masses on the objects colliding with each other and I would instantly see the impact the different masses had on the collisions. That was for me one aspect of the many that stood out. I also appreciated the fact that I could access the learning material even on my smartphone. When I would be on my way home, I would easily recap the work I had done that specific day. I appreciate and give my gratitude to our sponsors Mondi and e-Learning for the investment they have made towards our education for a better tomorrow

I got 61% for Maths, of which I would score around 50% in the second and third term, and for Physical Sciences I got a very good mark of 71% of which I would score around 60% in the second and third terms. I had applied at the University of Johannesburg to get enrolment for Chemical Engineering, but unfortunately, my application was rejected. I am still waiting for a response from Nelson Mandela University regarding my application in either Chemical Engineering or Computer Science
Mathematics was not always my favourite subject because I would struggle a lot with it and I found it difficult to understand. Fortunately for me, my school was chosen to be one school to have e-Learning at its disposal. After attending a few sessions with the Ligbron e-Learning teachers, I immediately fell in love with Mathematics. We have the best Mathematics and Physical Science teachers who have a unique way of teaching content. We also received the best lesson notes, which we received print-outs to take home and study. I now wouldn’t spend a lot of time compiling notes for myself, but I had ready-made, easy-to-understand notes available thanks to e-Learning. I appreciate all that e-Learning has done to ensure that we get quality education
KHANYISILE RADEBE
STANWEST COMBINED, RHODES UNIVERSITY, BACHELOR OF PHARMACY
I matriculated from Stanwest Combined in 2021, and I am currently pursuing my tertiary level studies at Rhodes University, studying towards a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. e-Learning helped me a lot by giving me extra tutorials with the recorded lessons we would watch. The videos helped me see and explore the different ways of studying and how I can approach certain examination questions, especially in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I would say e-Learning helped me a lot in Physical Sciences, the Chemistry aspect of it. The videos shown to us would show exactly what would happen when certain chemicals react together. And I, being a visual student, it was easy for me to grasp such illustrations
I am thankful to e-Learning for this fruitful initiative. I hope that it becomes available to all schools all over South Africa
SIYABULELA MHLONGO
DLOMODLOMO SECONDARY, UNIVERSITY OF FREE STATE, BACHELOR OF EDUCATION/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
I matriculated in 2021, and I am currently pursuing studies in Bachelor of Education with the University of Free State. I am also waiting on an acceptance for my application to study Information Technology at the Tshwane University of Technology
With the little time that I have used e-Learning, I would say there was a slight improvement in my marks. I really wish that I had e-Learning resources when I began Grade 10 because I felt that it would have helped strengthen my foundation of learning for Mathematics and Physical Sciences. When I started using e-Learning recorded lessons, I saw I understood some content in Mathematics and Physical Sciences better than I did in the classroom. That made a difference in my academics because now I understood content differently and much easier. My marks have improved, from getting level 2’s in both Mathematics and Physical Sciences to getting level 4 (58%) and level 4 (53%) in Physical Sciences

Support is everything in this world. One thing I learned is that Matric is easy, it is just that it has a lot of content to cover. Therefore, as a matriculant, you need all the support you can get. I am proud to say that Ligbron was one of the support systems I had, or rather should I say we had, as a former matriculant in our former School. The Ligbron e-Learning system ran on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and It covered Mathematics and Physical Sciences content. At first, I did not understand why we had to attend those classes, but as time went on, I saw the purpose and the need. Every time I attended those classes, the teacher who taught was always ahead of us in terms of the content. She would cover topics that we have not done yet in our School. The interesting thing is that when the time came for us to do those topics in our School, I would just flourish because I had the basics because of the Ligbron e-Learning classes, plus the teachers would give us printed handouts which helped me revise at a later stage. Another thing that the Ligbron e-Learning classes helped me with was that the lessons were recorded and were made available to us by our teacher. Every time I got stuck at a particular problem or sum, I knew I could always count on those recorded videos and handouts because they had great examples. Ligbron e-Learning provided me with extra support in my academics. In conclusion, I can happily say that Ligbron e-Learning contributed a lot in me being able to attain level 7’s, especially in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I got 83% for Mathematics and 87% for Physical Sciences
MAHLATSI MASHILO
KHAYALAMI SECONDARY SCHOOL
I would like to express my utmost appreciation for the support Ligbron e-Learning has given me the live tutorials, study material, and handouts which gave me sufficient time to practice the kinds of questions I might be asked in the examination. With this, I could improve from an average level 2 in Physical Sciences to a level 6, and I could also attain a level 5 in Mathematics. It has been an honor and privilege to be acknowledged by the Ligbron e-Learning team as a school. I applied to study Medicine/Pharmacy at Sefako Makgatho and I will use NSFAS as a bursary, but I am still waiting for a response from the university
KWAZINKOSI ZONDI
NTHOROANE SECONDARY SCHOOL, TSHWANE UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING
I matriculated in 2021, and I am currently in my first year at the Tshwane University of Technology. e-Learning is by far the greatest way of learning, especially for those learners doing Maths and Physical Sciences. E-Learning has helped improve my Maths and Physical Sciences marks as I have achieved a 60% for Mathematics, whereas I got a level 4 (50% - 59%) during the third term; and I got 67% for Physical Sciences, whereas I would have got level 2 (30% - 39%) in the third term. e-Learning basically simplified things for me, as we had very little time to go through the Grade 12 syllabus. We as learners also got to take part and interact with the e-Learning teachers as we got the platform to ask questions if there was something we didn’t understand
For me, that was a disciplined environment where I could ask questions freely without the fear of being mocked by my classmates. The educators thoroughly explained the exam-based questions and the different approaches and techniques we could use to solve them. With the great work that e-Learning is doing with Maths and Physical Sciences, I think they should add other subjects to the list
ABRAHAM LODEWICKUS
KOMATIPOORT AKADEMIE; NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFSTROOM CAMPUS; CHEMICAL ENGINEERING – LIGBRON E-LEARNING FOUND HIM A BURSARY FOR HIS STUDIES
I matriculated in 2021, and I am currently a first-year student at North-West University, studying for a Chemical Engineering degree. I believe Ligbron’s e-Learning resources have contributed to my success, mostly because there was always something that I could have used for anything, from revision to just general questions I had on either Maths or Sciences subjects. The extra classes we would attend every Tuesday and Thursday were really a great revision resource for me to make sure that I understood the work that we did in class
During Lockdown, our School was fortunate enough to join Ligbron with their online classes. Those few classes were probably the best of the whole year because the teachers were exceptional in explaining and teaching the concepts. I gained a lot of knowledge from them
The greatest resource that I think helped me the most was the revision lessons Ligbron had after the trial exams. I was fortunate enough to see what exactly I did wrong, and I saw how I could approach a problem from a different perspective. If I did not attend these revision classes, I would definitely have not scored the marks, I have for Mathematics and Physical Sciences. One thing I absolutely loved about the e-Learning program was the way the concepts are given made me do some extra research and not just to learn the work but to gain practical knowledge of the work and how to apply what we just learned
SAMUKELISIWE KHUMALO
KHAYALAMI SECONDARY SCHOOL, PHARMACY, NELSON MANDELA UNIVERSITY
Thank you e-Learning system for making our lives easier by instilling more knowledge than what I receive in my daily classes. I have benefited a lot from the study materials that you put at our disposal, as it gives us different approaches to different questions that they might ask us during the exams. I started using e-Learning in Grade 10 and my marks have really improved, not only that but my intellectual capacity and e-Learning compels me to individually think for myself (which I am not complaining about). Thank you so much to the stakeholders, and directors for funding this initiative)
THAPELO MATENGO
MFUNDO THUTHO, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN
I am currently a first-year student at the University of Cape Town, studying towards a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics. I got five distinctions, and they invited me to the Well-Done function of Free State. I got 92% for Mathematics and 87% for Physical Sciences
Ligbron e-Learning helped me a lot with its revision classes which we had weekly, especially towards the end of the year. I appreciate the fact that the e-Learning teachers had all the notes summarized which lightened the load for us. I think I would spend a lot of my time making summaries, so the work wouldn’t be a lot on my side. Another aspect of e-Learning that helped me was the recorded live sessions. If I didn’t attend some lessons, then I would access the saved videos and watch them in my own time. The e-Learning software was so convenient for me I enjoyed using it better than the chalkboard, especially with the illustrations. When we had some work uncovered and the exam dates were approaching, the teachers could be able to use the live transmission videos to cover the work
One thing I would say that motivates me to do my best in achieving the marks that I got was the situation at home. Both of my parents were employed, but because they needed a certain level of education, they were retrenched in 2006. So it has been hard, and they encouraged me to get proper education and learn from their mistakes and make a difference, to even land in the History Books and be celebrated just like tata Nelson Mandela. When I told my parents about the e-Learning System, they told me to make the most of this opportunity, as they were never exposed to such. Listening to my parents really paid off
Thank you e-Learning for the contribution you have made to all learners who have e-Learning at their disposal
SAMUKELISIWE MTSWENI
KHAYALAMI SECONDARY SCHOOL, RADIOLOGY, SEFAKO MAKGATHO UNIVERSITY
Learning has never been easier, or worse if you do not have the resources. By bringing this new system of learning, most of our lives have changed for the better. My marks have improved (Maths 40%-49% and Science 50%-59%). The notes have clear illustrations of problems, and they also gave us the opportunity to ask questions wherever we were in trouble. We really appreciate TRAC for sponsoring the e-Learning project in our school. I applied to study Radiology at Sefako Makgatho University, but I am still waiting for a response.

LD MOETANALO, BCOM IN ACCOUNTING SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
I matriculated in 2021 at LD Moetanalo and I am currently enrolled at the University of Pretoria studying Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Sciences. I would say that Ligbron e-Learning contributed a lot to my being able to qualify to study at the University of Pretoria because of the Maths marks I got. I scored 79% in Maths, and I am proud of myself because I would struggle a lot in grade 10 where I would get an average of 50%. I received a certificate of best grade 12 learners at my School for overall achievement and for Mathematics, and also a cash prize of, R1000 for obtaining five distinctions. This learning platform allowed me to add more knowledge to what my teacher had taught me and what the textbook provided. It also exposed me to different and easier methods to solve mathematical problems. Before we had e-Learning they showed us the basic ways of solving problems, but with Ligbron e-Learning, there were quite several ways of solving certain mathematical problems. Last, I appreciate the revision that we got before the examinations, as it allowed us to correct our mistakes in the trial examinations. I am really grateful to have been part of the grade 12 groups to have used the e-Learning package because it gives various components of help, such as being part of the online lessons; the printed out notes of each lesson, and the previous question papers and memos collections

I would say for me that is a huge improvement as I scored 60% for Mathematics and 48% for Physical Sciences in the second term.
The e-Learning classes helped me a lot with their understandable notes and coloured pictures, as I am a visual and spatial learner. I learn very quickly with coloured pictures and diagrams. What I appreciate the most with eLearning are the live sessions we used to attend as a class. And to those learners who have Ligbron e-Learning already, may they use it wisely and make the most of this awesome opportunity.
Oscar Lubabalo Mabuyane recognizing my hard work, offered me a scholarship to study at a University of my choice.
SIBONGE SHABANE
KWA-NXUSA HIGH SCHOOL, BACHELOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF MPUMALANGA
I am currently pursuing my first-year studies at Higher learning institutions, that being Universities. They have accepted me at the University of Mpumalanga in the Bachelor of Developmental Studies program. I am still waiting for the response from the Durban University of Technology in the Radiology program, as it is my first choice of study.
I matriculated in 2021, and I am grateful for the improvement of my Mathematics and Physical Sciences Marks as they helped me gain admission to the University. I used to get level 3 in Physical Sciences and level 2 in Mathematics, and now I have achieved 60% (level 5) in Physical Sciences and 51% (level 4) which for me is a good improvement, and I am thankful.
e-Learning has contributed so much to my academics, especially in Physical Sciences and Mathematics. I would like to thank Mondi for being our sponsor and the Ligbron eLearning for starting this educational initiative.
NOSIHLE SILANGWE

EMPUCUKWENI, BA GENERAL, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA
I matriculated in 2018 and am currently in my 3rd year of study at UP, studying BA general. Ligbron eLearning helped me improve my maths marks, and all I needed was a level 5 to apply for anything and I got just that, and because of that I got accepted into all the universities I applied to. I am planning to study for a Master’s degree and eventually get qualified as a clinical psychologist.

Overall, I am enjoying my course, especially ‘Introduction to Anatomy’ and Introduction to Biochemistry’.
:Result of my first year result (2020)

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ligbron e-Learning.
Results of my first year (2021):
My first semester results - Academic information management - 61%; Professional ethics - 75%; Financial Accounting - 67% and Statistics - 61%.
By God’s grace, I came through it successfully.
:Result of my third year (2021)
My first semester results – Geology - 50%; Applied Geology - 63%; People & Environment in Africa ii - 55%. Will get second-semester results at the end of the year.
